Handloom Cotton Saree from Polavaram in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
The saree is known for its contrast border woven with small motifs. Small delicate buttas in the body make the saree pretty.
We like the restrained use of colour in this saree. The fabric is light and perfect when the weather is hot or humid.
The weavers cooperative in Polavaram has applied for a GI Tag recently with the help of Nabard.
