Dabu Handblock Cotton Saree from Bagru
Dabu is a resist dyeing technique. Certain parts of the fabric are masked with a clay and gum paste using wooden blocks, and then the fabric is dipped into a dye. The masked parts resist the dye, while other parts get dyed. Thus, patterns are formed. The process is repeated to get light and dark shades.
