Meenakari Kadua Saree from Banaras in Pure Katan Silk.
A beautiful creamy colour highlighted by kadua meenakari zari buttis.
There is a contrast zari border with meenakari, and a meenakari zari palla.
The meenakari technique uses supplementary weft resham (silk) threads to add coloured motifs/highlights.
It is not embroidery. It is done at the time of weaving, making it a highly skilled process.
Meenakari work can be done in kadua or cutwork, but this is a kadua saree, with each butti finished individually and no hanging threads.
