Vintage style silver coin necklace with matching earrings.
Weight 78 gms. It has King George V on the front and One Rupee at the back.
It is a recreation of the type of jewellery worn by nomadic communities of Gujarat and Rajasthan who didn’t have homes with safe storage spaces.
These types of silver necklaces were a way of storing wealth and they could be easily traded as they were recognised as currency.
Nowadays there are no real silver coins minted and this way of carrying one’s wealth has disappeared.
Nomads still wear coin necklaces today, but more as a decorative element.
Rs 16800 including taxes and delivery in India.
