Madurai Kattuchayam Saree with Contrast border. Madurai specializes in these hand dyed contrast border sarees. It’s called kattuchayam technique, using wooden blocks to tie and lock out colour from one part of the saree, while dyeing the other.
Saree is 5.3 metres in length and 46 inches in height. There is no blouse piece.

They are crisply starched, but become incredibly soft after washing. Most comfortable and long lasting sarees. The base sarees in this series were woven on powerloom, then dyed by hand.
