Gond Art on wooden plate by Choti Tekam, a tribal artist from Bhopal. After the ‘discovery’ of Gond art in the 80s, there has been much appreciation worldwide. Support from government as well as from the private art world has led to the emergence of talented artists from the Gond tribe. A few women have also emerged, among them is Choti Tekam.
Her work is exuberant and bold. She loves birds and they often make an appearance in her work.
