Madhubani is a traditional art form of Mithila, the birthplace of Sita Devi. The artwork was originally painted as murals adorning rural homes, but its beauty and popularity has brought it into textiles as wearable art. The folk motifs of fish, peacocks, parrots, trees, flowers, and creepers, all signify abundance.
