The chief characteristic of the Ashwini design is the beautiful multi-colour square motifs, achieved through skilled bandha work (double ikat). There is a dobby rudraksh border with adjoining ikat band.
The palla of the saree is equally beautiful with very fine thin curvilinear ikat motifs in floral and conch themes.
